Many changes for the 2009 Audi A6
By Benjamin Cyr
The 2009 Audi A6 will receive a major facelift as well as many other changes. The most important one is a new 3.0 liter V6 called 3.0 TFSI.
With its 3-liter displacement and 290 hp power output, the V6 is a great addition to the Audi line-up. This 3.0 TFSI is fitted with a supercharger. Supercharger technology does not mean increased consumption - but the short intake paths do mean instantaneous response. The maximum torque (310 lb-ft) is availagle from 2500 to 4850 rpm.
The 3.0 TFSI comes with tiptronic and quattro drive train. Audi claimed that the A6 sedan accelerates from 0 to 100 km/h in 5.9 seconds and keeps on going to an electronically-regulated maximum speed of 250 km/h, while consuming approximately 10 liters per 100 kilometers. If this is true, the supercharged V6 is amazingly economical. |
