2009 Pontiac G8 GXP
By Benjamin Cyr
The G8 GXP will reach dealerships in late 2008 and feature a 6.2-litre V8 producing more than 400 horsepower. The engine is the newest member of GM’s small-block V8 family; it will complete the G8 line-up of 3.6-litre V6 and 6.0-litre V8.
“More than just raw power, the GXP delivers the sophisticated yet exciting driving experience that enthusiasts expect in a car costing far more than the GXP,” said Jim Bunnel, general manage of Buick-Pontiac-GMC.
The GXP will feature a new, optional six-speed manual transmission or standard Hydra-Matic six-speed automatic transmission. Pending final testing, the new model is expected to deliver zero to 96 km/h performance (0-60 mph) of about 4.7 seconds. Other features will include GXP-tuned suspension and steering, Brembo braking system, 19-inch wheels with performance tires, bolstered sport seats and 230-watt Blaupunkt |
