Road-test liked:

• the all-wheel option;
• the very competitive starting price;
• the superb interior finish, whether it be the materials or the dashboard;
• the beautiful design;
• the braking power;
• the vehicle’s overall stability;
• the quick shifts of the automatic transmission;
• the cabin’s comfort;
• the choice of two state of the art engines;
• good general performance. 

Road-test disliked:

• the CTS’s imposing weight;
• high fuel consumption (15 1/100 km);
• the numerous options which rapidly raise the price;
• the malfunction of certain sensors(tire pressure, «check engine»);
• accelerations below those of the competitors;
• occasional heavy steering. 

We can overlook certain flaws

With a starting price of $38,900 for the basic model and $41,400 for the fuel injected version (add $4,500 for all-wheel drive), the CTS can be excused for certain shortcomings. The retail price seems very competitive for a beautifully assembled sedan with a superb interior. It will please many a consumer excepting certain speed and agility types. This new CTS represents the finest Cadillac ever produced.
