Audi R8 2008

The exotic with a Bavarian touch
Who says exotic automobile is usually referring to the now mythical Italian rockets. Names such as Lamborghini and Ferrari send millions of car enthusiasts into dreamland. Italy, however, has to now share the spotlight with other builders. Germany has added, albeit in a lesser fashion, to the exotic gamut. In the last twenty years, Porsche has unveiled the 959 in the eighties and the Carrera GT in 2004. Mercedes followed suit in the same years with the McLaren SLR. This year, though, you must put Audi on that prestigious list!
A sight to behold from all angles
The R8, the newest jewel in the Audi crown will arrive as a 2008 model. Few cars can rival the R8 at the aesthetic level; its lines are simply incomparable. While some may find them strange, this will remain high art that leaves you breathless.
The front end reminds one of the unique shapes of falcon eyes. No less than twelve electroluminescent diodes make up the lighting parameter. Another distinctive feature is the Side Blade whose tone can be different from that of the rest of the vehicle which makes for interesting break. Really, an unique concept. The engine, located in a central rear position can be seen from the hatch like the Italian machines from Maranello or Sant Agata. Interestingly, the Audi R8 takes its name from the often victorious car at the 24hour Le Mans race; also the design seems heavily influenced by the Le Mans Quattro concept.
The interior has been very well designed plus the materials rank among the best. Once ensconced in an R8, you know that this is one serious car. |
