The S4 has neither the agility of BMW M3 nor the comfort level of the Mercedes C32 AMG but remains a unique automobile; hyper stable, powerful at all speeds, a joy to drive in all road conditions, very practical (the Avant version) and dignified with certain subtle touches for those who can appreciate them. Contrary to the other vehicles in this class, the S4 can be driven for twelve months a year problem free. If the $83,100 base price doesn’t put you off, man your chequebooks and smile as you slip into your Audi S4.

How not to like this car?! The sound of the engine, the nice interior, the wind in my hair, the power of the V8. Although, nothing is perfect in this world. Personally, I feel that the handling of the Cabrio version is less sporty than the S4 Sedan. The car is not as agile in turns and accelerations are almost half a second longer (extra weight) compare to the S4 Sedan tested in 2004. Also, the price close to 90 000$ is pretty high. Bottom line, if you have the money, go for it. But I would rather choose the wonderful Audi RS4 for only 5000$ more. The test drive of the RS4 will stay in my memory forever. |
