Ferrari 612 Scaglietti 2006

Road-test likes:

• the power, the suppleness, and the motor music;
• road hugging. It’s very agile despite the 1843 kg;
• the steering relays the car’s behaviour well;
• the suspension absorbs the all too numerous road imperfections;
• there’s even space for children in the rear but I doubt the need to take the Scaglietti to  school meetings;
• the trunk space is adequate;
• the comfort level  could not be better;
• the interior finish is practically lavish and the materials, of superior quality;
• the controls ergonomics  and the navigational system  better than the German version.

Road-test dislikes:

• the F1 type transmission is too dry. When passing, gear changes seem hurried and the occupants get jostled;
•   Does the price justify the use of the vehicle for more than a few months a year?

To use my colleague René’s expression «You don’t drive a Ferrari, you pilot it». This truly describes the experience on board this type of vehicle. Apart from the astronomical price, there are few flaws. So really enjoy the several weeks a year when you can use it.
