Ford Mustang 2006
By Benjamin Cyr
But the coasting and high speed turns evaluations are another matter. This is a heavy car with rigid axles and too much power in the power steering. The result is a somewhat awkward vehicle that sticks only to a dry and smooth surface. The slightest mistake in turning destabilizes the car and a wet surface makes it, quite simply, dangerous, especially the GT version. Even traction control fails to stop the rear wheels from skating. It bears saying that this rigid axle rear suspension technology is several decades old and the performance far from what one would get with an independent suspension. But, with this compromise, Ford can offer the Mustang at an excellent price.
Braking is adequate but one expects more from a 300 horsepower car with such great acceleration.
From $ 27, 995 to $ 36, 995
Granted, the Mustang is not a refined or sophisticated sports car nor is it fun to push in curves but you know, for the nostalgia buffs, nothing is worth more than a noisy and powerful power plant that provides extraordinary acceleration. Mustang fits the bill, especially with your hair blowing in the wind. And it’s hard to argue with the base price for the Cabriolet version; the V6 starts at $ 27, 995 and the GT V8 at $ 36, 995. At this price, there is no serious competition. |
