Yes, but....

We couldn’t wait to tryout the new arrival in the family of super charged Mazdas. Rumours swelled around the coming of the Speed, notably the possible addition of all-wheel drive. It ends up, probably for monetary reasons, being a traction product, which sets it apart from The Mazda 6 though it shares the same 2.3 litres turbocharged engine. One could safely say that 263hp is quite a load for a vehicle of this size and traction.

Road-test  likes:

• the motor’s power
• road adherence
• powerful braking
• practical aspect of a five-door vehicle
• Speed’s distinctive touches(interior and exterior)
• 18 inch 215/45r18 wheels
• Recarro seat
• metal pedal
• gear box

Road-test dislikes:

• motor music grates  over time.
• the turbo motor’s lack of agility
• excessive fuel consumption
• no all-wheel drive
