2009 Mini Clubman

Road-test dislikes : 

• the tight sport suspension of the Cooper S;
• the option fuelled price hike;
• the rear vision which is partially obstructed by the central pole combining the trunk’s two small doors;
• the dash’s ergonomics. The result may be interesting visually but certain controls are difficult to distinguish one from the other.

This Clubman version really stands out, just like the Mini Cooper of the last several years. The manufacturer managed to develop a vehicle as pleasant as the original while adding serious versatility and a bigger interior. Though the design probably won’t be to everyone’s liking, people will understand that a Mini was never meant to be a crowd-pleaser.
