Mitsubishi Eclipse Spyder 2007

Driving impressions
As I mentioned at the beginning, it’s time to set the record straight and realize that the Eclipse, Spyder or conventional, falls short in demonstrating all its supposed agility. Fine, there’s lots of power but the rather soft suspension leans more toward comfort and not the balance needed for high speed turns. Witness the oversteering when pushed in a curve. The manual gearbox also follows this trend towards softness however, let’s give credit where credit is due, it’s easy to handle which makes for smooth shifting.
Conclusion
At the gym, you often see people who are obviously not real athletes but dress like there at major competitions; the Spyder is one of them.
That being said, it remains a very satisfying car to drive and turns many a head with its ultra-modern silhouette. |
