Road-test likes:

• the aesthetic lines and the vehicle’s unique character;
• the two interesting and sufficiently powerful motorizations;
• the generally reasonable fuel consumption;
• the predictable and surprise-free handling;
• the efficient automatic CVT;
• the relatively precise and direct steering;
• Nissan’s highly improved interior finish;

Road-test dislikes:

• the lack of control systems for traction and lateral stability (2.5 S);
• the suspension of the 2.5 S sometimes soft in the turns;
• rear visibility and ¾(C pillar);
• the size of the trunk, a mere 210 litres;
• rear seating accessibility;
• the fierce competition from the new Honda Accord Coupé;

Few competitors

Of course, there’s the Mustang and the Mitsubishi Eclipse, but I think the real competition comes from Honda new Accord 2008 in Coupé version. Its price approximates that of the Altima Coupé 2.5 s but offers a more powerful and modern 4 cylinder engine. In fact, we will present our complete evaluation of this Accord Coupé as soon as possible.
