The Nissan Altima underwent a design change in 2007 and when released, the modifications most appreciated had to do with the interior’s upholstery, which meant a big stride forward when compared to the preceding Altima. However, after having driven the Altima’s hybrid version, to me, this is the real surprise.

To those who still have doubts about hybrid technology, I highly recommend trying the new Altima. Note that the batteries are guaranteed for 8 years and/or 160,000km and the replacement cost hovers around $3500 if the guarantee has expired (remember that most manufacturers equate the replacement cost with the cost of a transmission replacement). Interesting fact: the Canadian government will give you a $1500 rebate incentive to purchase a hybrid vehicle.
