Nissan Versa 2007

Likes:
- Impressive interior room for a sub-compact. It beats the Sentra! In fact, the Versa should be considered a compact.
- Handling is comfortable; stable turns with good roll control. However, bumps make for a bumpy ride in the Versa.
- in gear performance. Honda’s Fit has better general acceleration but not in gear acceleration.
- full array of standard features; test model had radio controls and gear shifter on the steering wheel.
- Excellent interior lay-out with well placed, simple controls.
Dislikes:
- At 8.3 litres/100km on the highway, fuel consumption is excessive for this class.
- Worst seats I’ve encountered this year. Excessive lower back support makes for very uncomfortable ride.
- Loud wind noise at a mere 80km/h!
- Although improvements have been made, Nissan still lacks quality materials.
- ABS still optional.
- Lack of storage space between the front seats.
The Versa has many plusses, making it a pillar in its class: very attractive base pricing, responsive handling, adequate handling, lots of equipment and space to spare. However, you’re test drive will confirm or not my opinions about the seats, lack of storage space and fuel consumption.
